Victories in Singapore - Development XI by 9 wickets and 1st XI by 93 runs

Two good batting performances saw both teams gain significant victories. In the first game the Development XI saw Nic Murray bowl very well and he had the honour of taking the first wicket on tour. Nic and Sam Abbot picked up 2 wickets each as Singapore was kept to 83 in the 20 overs. Jacob and Isaac Bid then batted well to get close to the target together. Isaac finsihed undefeated on 47 as Kurtis Weeks hit the winning boundary. Both openers were in very fine touch.

The 1st XI also saw a substantial partnership. Bailen Thatcher (59) and Liam Beckett (62) scored over 100 together for the 3rd wicket as they took the bowling apart. Ben Chamberlain (18no) and Ben Dickie (8no)continued the momentum as they scored over 30 in the last 4 overs. The total of 174 was an impressive performance. The bowling effort wasn't as strong as Singapore put on 30+ for their opening partnership, but in the end the run rate was too much for them. Jakob Kerr with 2 wickets was the best bowler while Daniel Freeman-Greene had a good spell. The 1st XI only took 5 wickets, but won by over 90 runs. A hot day was had by all. Lots of water was drunk, and the Singapore CC were once again great hosts. Great to see the Birds on the sideline today.
